Today we went to Dublin again. Our first stop was at the famine sculptures.
They were created to remind the Irish famine. There were two important periods of famine in Ireland;the first one in 1740, when the extreme cold spoilt the harvest and made disappear the fish from the sea. This was called the "The Small Ice Age". The second one was from 1845 to 1849. Famine was caused by fungus and other economical problems. In this period, Irish people move to America.
Then, we visited the wax museum. We saw diferent wax sculptures: politicians, pieces of Irish history, the horror chamber, characters from different children tales, musicians and singers, actors...
After that, we went to Stephens Green to have lunch. We spent there just one hour, and then we went shopping. We bought presents for our relatives and then, we came back Balbriggan.
