Saturday in Balbriggan

Today it was a different day. In the morning we went to visit St George's church.
Then, as the weather was really cold and windy, we went to the cinema. We made three groups depending on the film we wanted to watch: Cinderella, Big Hero 6 and Home.
After the film, we went to the beach to have lunch there. Then, we had a photography contest. We had to take the best photo by groups, then describe it  and then, show it to the teachers to choose the best one. It has been really interesting!! We took a lot of photos but just three were the winners.

Tomorrow is our last day here. We are going to spend the whole morning with them and then we will say good bye and we will go to Dublin's airport.

Wax museum and Shopping day

Today we went to Dublin again. Our first stop was at the famine sculptures.

They were created to remind the Irish famine. There were two important periods of famine in Ireland;the first one in 1740, when the extreme cold spoilt the harvest and made disappear the fish from the sea. This was called the "The Small Ice Age". The second one was from 1845 to 1849. Famine was caused by fungus and other economical problems. In this period, Irish people move to America.

Then, we visited the wax museum. We saw diferent wax sculptures: politicians, pieces of Irish history, the horror chamber, characters from different children tales, musicians and singers, actors...

After that, we went to Stephens Green to have lunch. We spent there just one hour, and then we went shopping. We bought presents for our relatives and then, we came back Balbriggan.

Skerris and Malahide

Today in the morning we went to Skerries. We were at the beach and we colleted shells to create the school shield. While we were searching, we found shells, an hermit crab, a sea star, different fish and small eels. We learnt something about the history of  this town, and now we know that it has won "The Tidiest Large Town Prize" in Ireland a lot of times. We also visited one of the famous Skerries' mills. It was huge!

Later, we went to Malahide. We saw two big fields that irish use to play hurling, gaelic football and rugby. We walked through a forest, we saw Malahide's castle and we have lunch and played at one of the largest grass fields we have ever seen.

After that, we went back to the station to meet our families at Balbriggan again.
